Susan,
Your work goes beyond technical mastery of the medium and gets at what is more elusive... it evokes a feeling.
Many of us are living overbusy and noisy lives, and these paintings are an invitation to the solitude of a peaceful place, where the quiet beauty of nature and the atmosphere of the moment offer peace and refreshment to those who notice it.
"Cresting the Hill" is one of my favorites, because it is powerfully optimistic in coloration and atmosphere, and reminds me that there are places of rest waiting for me, (though it may take a little effort to enter in), where I can survey the big picture and see that life is beautiful. In these places I can breathe deeply and freely, and give thanks to God, who is beautiful beyond description.
I could go on an on about your winter landscapes... capturing the chilly stillness of the moment for contemplation. Still, there is warmth in the earth and in the living grasses that eventually melt the enveloping snow.
Your paintings are visual poetry. Keep expressing.

Susan,
Looks great! I couldn't open it when we were in Phoenix... just dial up access. Moving thru the site works well and the images look great (of course).
